The 2022 Fairfield County Puerto Rican Parade will be held on Sunday, July 10 and Girl Scouts of Connecticut will be there!
The parade is a celebration of Puerto Rican culture and heritage with an array of participating groups marching, playing music and dancing from Central High School to Seaside Park in Bridgeport. Girl Scouts Troops and Families are invited to march in the parade wearing their uniforms or sashes, displaying a poster with their troop number and city/town, and joining in song and cheer!
Would you like to do more than march in the parade? Then be in the parade! We will need: Banner carriers to cover .25mile distances, Flag Bearers, Adult security “spotters”, two First Aid/CPR designees, Volunteers to hand out giveaways, girls in Cookie Costumes, girls in cultural attires – get involved, get your troop involved and be part of the fun.
This event can help you earn your Aware, Ally, Advocate patch (not included). Learn more about those requirements here.
Marchers: Join other Girl Scouts at the beginning of the parade at Central High School (1 Lincoln Blvd, Bridgeport). You have the option of parking either at the beginning or at the end of the parade route near Seaside Park and taking a ride back to the beginning of the route at the high school.
Parade length: 2.5 miles
Weather: Parade is held rain or shine, please dress accordingly.
