
Girl Scouts Love State Parks
Girl Scouts Love State Parks is back for the 4th year!
Join us with your troop, your friends, or your family as we offer programs and events at State Parks across Connecticut.
Participate in our planned activities or visit any State Park that you'd like. We will have activities with the DEEP around the state during the weekend. Information will be updated here as we create plans. When registering, each Girl Scout will receive one patch with their $5.00 fee. If you would like any additional patches, please indicate how many at checkout, and $5 per patch will be added. If you do not want any additional patches, you can just enter 0 in the box.

Friday, September 9th
7:00 pm- 7:30 pm- Virtual: Create Your Own Leave No Trace Pack Out Bag - Advanced registration is required. Click here to grab your spot.
Saturday, September 10th
10:00 am- Goodwin State Park- Bug Exploration program
10:00 am- Black Rock State Park- Hike to see sugarbush used in the production of local syrup and the old sawmill site. Photo opportunity in the Giant's Chair after the approximately one-mile hike!
10:00 am to 12:00 pm-Hammonasset Beach State Park- Save the Sound Coastal Clean up, pre-registration helpful but not required, volunteers@hammonasset.org
10:00 am to 4:00 pm- Fort Trumbull- Ships and fishing vessels available for tours
11:00 am- to 3:00 pm - Old Newgate Prison- Bat Appreciation Day- This event has a separate fee through the DEEP at the event.
1:00 pm- Old Newgate Prison- Have the opportunity to meet and talk with our Girl Scout CEO Diana Mahoney and dignitaries from DEEP! Bring your questions about GS's and you may even be able to receive a CEO patch!
1:00 pm- Hammonasset State Park- Turtle Program- Join the Rangers at Hammonasset to learn all about turtles in Connecticut.
1:00 pm - Osborne Homestead Museum - Rare Books - Learn about rare books on display, please email DEEP.Kellogg@ct.gov if you plan to attend
Sunday, September 11th
8:30 am to 9:45 am- New London Waterfront under the tent- Memorial 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony Led by U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard
10:00 am-12:00 pm- Archaeology Dig at Peters House, Hebron, CT- This event requires a separate registration. Please visit this link for all the details. Limited spots are available. Click here to register.
10:00 am to 11:30 am- Pootatuck State Forest, New Fairfield- Hike with a Forester
11:00 am to 2:00 pm- Fort Trumbull, New London- DEEP Fisheries Division Fishing Clinic
11:00 am to 4:00 pm- Fort Trumbull, New London- Ships and fishing vessels available for tours
