Join us at Peoples State Forest in Barkhamsted for this fun troop or family overnight where you will have an opportunity to go on a hike, learn how to set up a campsite, explore the nature center, learn about the history of the area, meet Smokey Bear, and so much more. $25 per person for overnight, this is a unique opportunity to camp right in the park rather than in the campgrounds, close to flush toilets!  Breakfast will be provided, you are on your own for dinner, we will have a cooking area set up for everyone's use.

Registering for this event also includes the day time event.

 

Workshops throughout the day will include:
- Letterboxing
- Solar Viewing
- Leave No Trace
- River Ecology
- No Match Fire Starting
- All About Bears
- Hikes for various abilities
- Pollinator Garden Exploration

Nature Center Open 10am - 4pm

Cancellation Policy
If we cancel: If the council needs to cancel due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, we’ll do our best to reschedule. If you are not able to make the new date/time, you’ll receive a refund. If you cancel: If you need to cancel participants, we strongly advise finding replacements to take their place. You can make changes to your order online. For most events, if you cancel up to a month before the registration deadline, we’ll refund your fees. If you cancel 2-3 weeks before the deadline, you’ll receive a partial refund, which will vary depending on the type of event. A week before the deadline, no refunds will be given as arrangements have been made.
