Join us at Laurel for a relaxed camping weekend with letterboxing fun! All levels of letter boxing knowledge welcome.

The fun, semi-scheduled weekend will include workshops such as compass use & Leave No Trace, night boxing, evening campfire, and clues to dozens of new letterboxes hidden all over camp!  Choose to participate in all or some activities - you create your own schedule.

This event is held rain or shine.  Bring just your personal gear and bag dinner for Friday night - we provide your Saturday meals and Sunday breakfast.

Friday night, Juniors and older will carve their personal letterboxing stamp and make a substantial logbook, completing their letter boxing kit. Brownies will participate in activities for the Letterboxer badge, and create their own, simpler letterboxing kit. After breakfast Saturday, spend the day as you'd like.

This event is for Brownies - Ambassadors. Troops and individual Girl Scouts with Adult, are welcome. To help us place groups together, please register at one time as a group. Additional Girl Scouts, children, and adults may join you on the Saturday at the day rate.

Seniors & Ambassadors if you enjoy leading activities, consider registering for this weekend as part of the Laurelei's Weekend Crew. The Crew helps with activities as well as logistical tasks that help make the weekend possible. The Crew fee helps to off-set meal costs.

Fee: $60 per person. GSOFCT Laurelei's Letterboxing Weekend or year rocker patch included.

Sleeping Arrangements FYI:

We use both cabins and the platform tents for letterboxing weekend. Depending on group size units will be shared by more than one troop/group. Within each unit tents or cabins will be assigned to only one group/troop.  Assigning sites to groups is like a big jigsaw puzzle. Because we’ve learned that with in a large group, there are usually a number of changes in the roster, we wait until the last moment to assign where people will be staying. Changes that make a difference in accommodations have included, but are not limited to: replacing a female with male chaperone, accommodations such as crutches, changes in number of participants. When you arrive you’ll receive your welcome packet which will outline which area of camp you’ll call home during your stay.

Note: We do realize that at times there are preferences or real accommodations that might need to be made. We do our best to keep these in mind but are not able to promise it can be done. If you have preferences please put that in under special accommodations when registering. This is also the place to put in a troop number that you would like to be near.

Our Tent and Cabin units are very similar in shared picnic pavilion, bedding, porto-potties/wash stations and lack of electricity. The tents provide a wider option for ventilation, and the cabins have two doors and two rows of windows, some of which open. If you have any specific questions about the weekend, please send them to customercare@gsofct.org.
