Note: Due to difficulties planning during the corona virus episode, we are postponing the Bridge Over CT to Saturday, August 29th starting at 9:30 a.m. We will be updating this area soon and reaching out to all who registered.

Meanwhile, mark your calendars, and get ready for some summer time fun! It will be a fantastic way to reconnect and jump into Girl Scouting year 2020-2021!

Join Girl Scouts, families, and friends as we celebrate Girl Scouts who are bridging to a higher level of Girl Scouting. Whether you are bridging and taking the celebratory walk over the Connecticut River, want to cheer on your Girl Scout, or are looking for a fun morning, sign up for this free event! Thanks for registering! It helps us be prepared for you and by registering before April 1st, you’ll be able to reserve your 2020 patch and/or T-shirt! Walk-ins are also welcome and as available you’ll be able to purchase a patch or shirt.

Co-sponsored by the Connecticut Science Center, Girl Scouts of Connecticut fills Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, and the Plaza around the Connecticut Science Center.  Our Program Partners, volunteers and staff will offer numerous stations with hands on activities representing the Outdoor, STEM, Life skills, and entrepreneurship Girl Scout Pillars. The Stage will be full with a Girl Scout Talent Showcase, a “Through the Decades” fashion show, DJ, interactive self-defense demonstrations, and more!

Bridging Girl Scouts will gather on the East Hartford side of the River at 9:30 a.m. for their ceremonial walk. This is a celebration, so feel free to top your uniform off with crazy hats, beads, and a bit of sparkle! Bring a banner and let everyone know where you’re from. Adults, remember that your Bridging Girl Scouts will want to see & hear you cheering them on as they step onto the shore. The oldest Girl Scouts will cross first, so you’ll know when to expect your own G.I.R.L.

Thinking, that’s a lot, I may want to sit for a bit? No problem! Visit one of the food trucks for a yummy treat, or bring your own!

Our Service to the Community this year is collecting personal hygiene items for Hartford Shelters. There will be a collection area amongst the activity stations.

There is more! Did you know that you could stay overnight at the Connecticut Science Museum, and be in place and ready for the fun the next morning? After registering for the BOC 2020, your confirmation will have a link to the overnight, which is $55 per person and limited to 350 people. Your breakfast and an Connecticut Science Center patch is included.

Remember, you don’t need to be a bridging Girl Scout to attend.  Everyone is invited to this free, rain or shine event! Come back to this site often as we’ll be posting more information as it becomes final.

If you would like to join the volunteers who are making this event happen, let us know in the registration process & we’ll be in touch!

Talent Showcase – be a part of it!

We’re looking for dancers, singers, musicians, martial artists, gymnasts, comedians, and other talented people to participate in our Bridge Over Connecticut Talent Show. Take the stage solo or perform with your Girl Scout troop!
